EEA Seeking Fund Development Manager

The EEA is Currently Seeking Candidates for its volunteer Fund Development position

You are passionate about the environment. You want to make a difference in Evanston. You have time and talent to lend to a non-profit organization. Sound like you? Then consider joining the Board of Directors of the Evanston Environmental Association.

The Evanston Environmental Association is an all-volunteer organization; we have no staff. Consequently, the EEA Board of Directors is a working board, and every member voluntarily takes on specific responsibilities to ensure the organization thrives.

The Evanston Environmental Association board of directors is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill its Fund Development Lead position. The Fund Development Lead, like all the EEA board member positions, is a volunteer position. The main focus of this position is to lead the fundraising initiatives of the EEA and work in conjunction with the membership lead, treasurer, and social media lead to advance the financial position of the organization and increase funds available for grantmaking.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Fundraising

    • Design and execute campaigns to encourage donations, both restricted and unrestricted in support of EEA’s activities/grantmaking, including twice yearly solicitations.

    • Create individual plans to cultivate, engage and solicit individuals for major gifts

  2. Stewardship/communications

    • Steward current donors to encourage repeat and upgraded giving by reporting regularly to donors (and members) on the impact of donor gifts (and membership dues)

  3. Assessment

    • Evaluate the ROI of existing activities and make recommendations to the Board of Directors to enhance ROI and/or reduce or eliminate activities with low ROI

    • Evaluate and improve current stewardship systems (thank you emails, etc.)

  4. Database management

    • Enter data into the EEA's non-profit software, Wild Apricot, for check donations

    • Manage and monitor the EEA's use of its non-profit software, Wild Apricot, in conjunction with the EEA Treasurer and Webmaster

The Fund Development Lead serves a three-year term (with the option for reelection). We are looking for a responsible, motivated individual with great customer service and communication skills to fill this position. Experience working with Google Drive, Wild Apricot (Personify) or any membership software, and nonprofit fundraising is a plus. This job can take up to ten hours a month.

The EEA is a non-profit organization founded in 1976, dedicated to supporting the programs of the Evanston Ecology Center and promoting environmental awareness. Click HERE to visit the EEA's website to learn more.
